Luis Arnaldo began his musical studies with his father, also a trumpeter, Luis Dolores Ramos Rivera. He then continued his training at the Escuela Libre de Música de Humacao under the tutelage of master trumpeter Victor (Kaleco) Lebron Cotto. Later he entered the Escuela Libre de Música de Caguas and studied with the master trumpeter Efrén Rodríguez. Upon graduating from high school, Luis Arnaldo began studies at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music where he studied with Grammy Award-winning maestro Charlie Sepúlveda and maestro Julio Alvarado. At the CMPR Luis Arnaldo completes a bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance, in Jazz and Caribbean Music. Luis Arnaldo has a 17-year career as a professional trumpet player working with great artists and groups from Puerto Rico. In addition, Luis Arnaldo has a master’s degree in education and is a music teacher at the Specialized School of Fine Arts in Cayey, Puerto Rico.
In the musical genre of Salsa he has worked with: Willie Rosario, Roberto Roena, Domingo Quiñones, Puerto Rican Power, Michael Stuart, Tito Nieves, Cano Estremera and La Mulenze.
In the musical genre of merengue he has worked with: Elvis Crespo, Olga Tañón, Milly Quezada, Joseph Fonseca, Manny Manuel, Limit 21, Melina Leon, Tonny Tun Tun, Juan Luis Juancho and Mayombe.
In the musical genre of plena he has worked with: Water Wind, Fill it out Plenary, From Full to Full, Hannibal of Grace and Full Sweetness, Pleneros of the Beyond and Pleneros The Answer.
More recently, Luis Arnaldo works as Trumpeter and Musical Director for the new emerging Salsa star, Luis Vázquez. With these groups Luis Arnaldo has worked in large festivals and concerts in countless countries and cities.
Luis Arnaldo has used Denis Wick mouthpieces all his playing career. He loves the sound, its ease of play and also the comfort of this range of mouthpieces.
