Raúl Sabiote comienza sus estudios musicales en el Real Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Almería “Julián Arcas” donde recibe clases de Carlos Díaz, Alejandro Marco y Elohim Porras, además de clases extracurriculares con los profesores Manuel González Granero y Francisco José Pérez Cruz. En 2016 se traslada a Palma de Mallorca dónde obtiene el Grado Superior de Música (2021) en el Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears con Josep Burguera Riera y Àngel Torres. Actualmente, estudia el Máster de Interpretación en la Hochschule Luzern (Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Artes de Lucerna, Suiza), con los profesores Thomas Rüedi y Glenn Van Looy. En su formación ha recibido clases magistrales de Steven Mead, Shoichiro Hokazono, José Martínez Antón, Bastien Baumet, Juan José Munera, David Abellán, Óscar Abella y Miguel Moreno, entre otros.
Durante su carrera ha colaborado con diversas agrupaciones como la Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Almería (2016-*), la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Almería (2019), Orchestra di Fiatti Città de Ferentino (2019 y 2022) y European Union Youth Wind Orchestra “EUYWO” (2019), entre otras. Como solista, ha tenido la oportunidad de tocar con diversas agrupaciones como la Banda Municipal de Palma de Mallorca “SimfoVents” (2019), o con la Málaga Brass Band (2022).
Además, ha obtenido numerosas distinciones y premios entre las que destacan: Primer Premio en el Concurso de Solistas del Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears (España, 2019), Primer Premio en el Concurso Internacional OPUS 2021 (Polonia, 2021), Primer Premio en el Concurso Internacional Medici (2021), Primer Premio en el Concurso Internacional King’s Peak (Estados Unidos, 2021), Segundo Premio en el Concurso de Jóvenes Intérpretes Art Jove (España, 2021), Segundo Premio en el Philip Jones International Brass Competition (Suiza, 2022) y Primer Premio en el Concurso internacional AETyB 2022 (España, 2022).

Raúl Sabiote (Almería, 1998) is a Spanish euphonium player based in Switzerland in high demand as a performer, conductor and teacher with extensive experience in different roles.
Raúl began his musical training at the Real Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Almería “Julián Arcas”, under the guidance of renowned teachers such as Carlos Díaz, Alejandro Marco, Elohim Porras, Manuel González Granero and Francisco José Pérez Cruz. Graduated with honours at the Conservatorio Superior de las Islas Baleares, under the tutelage of Josep Burguera Riera, in 2023, he obtained the highest qualifications in his speciality in the Master of Music Performance at the Hochschule Luzern (Switzerland), where he trained with professors Thomas Rüedi and Glenn Van Looy. In addition, during his training, Raúl has received master classes from renowned soloists such as Steven Mead, Shoichiro Hokazono, José Martínez Antón, Bastien Baumet, Juan José Munera, David Abellán, Óscar Abella, and Miguel Moreno, among others.
Beyond his solid training and experience in the field of performance, Raúl has deepened his knowledge by pursuing a master’s degree in Orchestra and Wind Band Conducting. Under the guidance of prominent professors such as Hervé Grélat, Christoph Rehli and Clemens Heil at the University of Applied Sciences in Lucerne, Switzerland, he has had the privilege of receiving lessons from renowned conductors, including Andrea Loss, Piotr Sułkowski, Juan José Navarro, Andrea Brown, José Miguel Rodilla, Nanine Linning and José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana.
Throughout his career, Sabiote has collaborated with prestigious ensembles, such as the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester (CH), the Orchestra di Fiatti Città de Ferentino (IT), the Banda Municipal of Bilbao (ES) and the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra “EUYWO” (LU). As a soloist, he has had the opportunity to play with several bands and orchestras, such as the Banda Municipal of Palma de Mallorca “SimfoVents” (ES), the “Málaga Brass Band” (ES) and the Banda Municipal of Alicante (ES).
Among the numerous prizes and awards Sabiote has obtained, we can highlight First Prize in the “Soloist Competition of the Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands”, “Art Jove Prize in the Art Jove Young Performers Competition”, First Prize in the “OPUS 2021 International Competition”, “First Prize in the Medici International Competition”, First Prize in the “King’s Peak International Competition”, Second Prize in the “Philip Jones Brass-Preis International Competition” and First Prize in the “AETyB 2022 International Competition”. In 2023, he was awarded the ST.ART – Nachwuchsförderpreise Kultur prize by the government of the canton of Lucerne (Switzerland), which honours the most outstanding final projects by music and art students. In addition, in the same year, he became the first euphonium player to win First Prize in the Juventudes Musicales España competition, to which he was also awarded the European EMCY prize.
