John Barber is solo trombonist with the Foden’s Brass band, a position he has held since 1996. He is also the bands Chairperson.
Having studied on the ‘Joint Course’ at the RNCM and Manchester University, he has performed with local groups such as the Halle Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata and Raymond Gubbay Orchestra amongst others, and has subsequently gone on to perform with artists such as Elton John, Rod Stewart, Liza Minelli, The Gypsy Kings, Paul Anka, the Super Big Tramp Band and with Gloria Estefan on the X-factor.
John was appointed as Head of Music at Sandbach School in 2003, before taking up the role of Director of the Love Music Trust in 2012.
