Kenny was born in Caguas Puerto Rico on February 14, 1991. He started taking trombone classes at the Libre de Música School in Caguas at the age of 8 with teacher Hector “Lutty” Maldonado in 1999. In 2009, he graduated from high school, having already, as a student, the experience of being part of different professional musical groups. He had the opportunity to perform in different music styles as salsa, plena, concert band, and batukada.
In August 2009, he began a Bachelor’s degree at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. During this period as a college student, he participated in the Casals Festival in 2010 and performed with the Latin rock band Puya, Del sur al norte salsa band with Julito Alvarado as the band leader, the Charanga Moderna, and the big band of Humberto Ramirez. In 2015 he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in trombone performance in Jazz and popular music. In 2016 Kenny joined the United States Armed Forces as a trombonist under the Army branch. He had the opportunity to perform at the funeral services of the former President of the United States of America, President George Bush Senior.
Kenny was a part of the SHAPE International Band from 2019-2022 in Belgium, working directly with the European Union, and NATO during this period. He currently lives in Puerto Rico, and performs in musical groups such as Plena Libre, LUVA, and Domingo Quiñones. He also collaborates with the Michael Stuart orchestra, Cuco Peña, La India, Manolito Rodriguez, Tony Vegas, Grupo en 3&2, and Abran Paso.
