Principal Trombone Hammonds Brass Band – Co-Principal Trombone Black Dyke Band

Adam is a student at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying Performance under Gary McPhee. He is the Solo Trombone for The Hammonds Band and Co-Principal Trombone of The Black Dyke Band. Adam has held the Principal Trombone seat in the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain since 2019.

A student of Dr Brett Baker, Adam has been playing Trombone since he was 7, progressing through the Wardle Academy brass ensembles (under conductor Lee Rigg) culminating in him winning the “Outstanding Soloist” prize in the Youth Section of the European Brass Band Championships held in 2019 (Montreux, playing the 3rd Movement of Rimsky Korsakov’s Trombone Concerto) and 2022 (Birmingham, performing Arthur Pryor’s The Blue Bells of Scotland). Though a big part of his life, it’s not all brass-bands – Adam enjoys performing with other types of musical groups and genres and is looking forward to seeing where music can take him.
