Ulises Nájera

Ulises is a Mexican musician, interested in trombone performance and other brass instruments. His career has developed into following a range of genres and ensembles. Whether in jazz, big band, chamber orchestra, chamber music, symphony orchestras, pop, folk music or performing as a soloist, Ulises is one of the most featured trombonists in Mexico City.

In 2007 he was awarded a student exchange scholarship to attend and study at Académie de Musique Rainier III in Montecarlo, Monaco.

He’s the founder, producer and arranger for the following projects TROMBOTONES, FAKE BONE, MX BIG BAND, LA PETIT BAND, SONIDO TROMBONERO, SKA DE AKÁ and the YouTube Channel RELAX MUSIC 461.

In 2010 Ulises co-premiered Julio Estrada’s Cúpula and Bóveda, for bass and tenor trombones, performed with legendary trombonist Gustavo Rosales.

In 2019 he was musical director, trombonist and arranger for the pop singer Karol Sevilla during the Que se Pare el Mundo Tour.

As a composer and arranger, Ulises’ portfolio is conformed of 70 original pieces, 40 arrangements for TROMBOTONES, 200 adaptations and arrangements for jazz ensemble and popular music ensembles, symphony orchestra and concert band.
