Born in Pamplona (Spain), Asier Ardaiz is one of the most promising young modern trumpet players in Spain today.

He began his trumpet studies at the age of 6. He studied elementary and professional classical music in Pamplona, and then went on to study modern music at the San Sebastian School of Music (Musikene). After finishing his studies with honours, he studied for a 2-year Master’s degree at the Kunstüniversitat of Graz (Austria) with professors of the stature of Jim Rotondi, Ed Partyka and Luis Bonilla, obtaining the highest qualification in his final project.

Once he finished all his studies and having recorded an album, his professional career has taken him to different jazz and modern music festivals, such as Urtarrijazz, several editions of jazzaldi in Getxo, Vitoria and San Sebastian, the famous Zevra festival in Valencia or the  Boombastic in Asturias. He was also one of the few Europeans to be admitted to the “International Trumpet Guild” competition in Los Angeles (California).

He is currently dedicated to composition, musical arrangements and above all to performance as a freelance and studio musician, playing with many artists, including Antonio Banderas and Taburete, and he is also a promoter of the “Sanmahorn” brand of trumpets and the “Music Monsters” brand of trumpet cases.

Asier uses a “Denis Wick 1x” mouthpiece for his trumpet and a “Denis Wick 3BFL” for his flugelhorn.
