Audrius Salz is a wind instrumentalist from Lithuania whose connection to music began in childhood, at home — where vinyl records and cassette tapes played endlessly on the family stereo. Although born in 1991, the technology in the house came a little later, and so his earliest musical memories are filled with the warm crackle of old records and the gentle hum of cassette decks. That nostalgic soundscape left a deep impression, planting the first seeds of his musical curiosity.
At the age of ten, Audrius picked up his first wind instrument — the cornet — and discovered not just an instrument, but a voice. What began with classical music gradually expanded into jazz and improvisation, where he found freedom, emotion, and space to grow as an artist. Over time, his collection of instruments grew to include the French horn, trombones, saxophones, and a number of rare wind instruments from the early and mid-20th century — each chosen for its unique character and sound.
For Audrius, playing is an act of listening — to the instrument, to the moment, to the feeling behind every note. His performances are intimate, textural, and sincere — shaped by a love for wind instruments as living, breathing storytellers. Whether performing solo or in collaboration, he seeks to create music that speaks quietly but deeply, inviting listeners into a shared experience beyond words.
Today, Audrius continues to explore new ways of expressing himself through breath, brass, and wood — always guided by curiosity, craftsmanship, and the joy of sound.
