Nicole Yomara is a music educator and trumpet player from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. She started her journey in music when she was 5 years old and ever since, she had interest in music and playing different musical instruments such as: cuatro puertorriqueño (A Puerto Rican national instrument), electric bass, piano, percussion and many others, until she met the instrument that changed her life, the trumpet.
She graduated from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in Instrumental Music Education and Trumpet Performance. As a musician, she had worked with different bands, symphonic orchestras, string ensembles, steel bands, pleneros and batucadas.
She is now the musical director of the Puerto Rico’s all female band, Son Divas and works as a freelance trumpet player. Nicole has worked with artists such as: Joseph Fonseca, Kinito Méndez, Bonny Cepeda, PJ Sin Suela, Giselle, Luis Vázquez, NG2, La Secta All Stars, Millo Torres, N3 Amigos, Banda Red & Blue, Andrés Waldemar, Carlos Nevárez, La Pochiband, Orq Camínalo, Orquesta Sinfónica del Centro, La Respuesta Entertainment, Pleneros del Más Allá, and many others.
She has participated in different productions as a musician such as Miss Universe Puerto Rico, Especial del Banco Popular and tv shows with artists like: Son Divas, La India, Yolandita Monge, Victor Manuelle, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Lucecita Benítez, Oscar D’León, Jeremy Bosch and Milly Quezada.
Nicole has performed in the main venues in Puerto Rico such as: Día Nacional de la Salsa in Hiram Bithorn Stadium, Aniversario de la Salsa Francisco Montaner Stadium, Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián, Coca Cola Music Hall, José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, Santurce’s Performing Arts Center & Tito Puente Amphitheater. She also performed in Festival Caribeño in Chicago, Festival de Puerto Rico in San Antonio, Texas and Latin Festival in St. Kitts.
As an educator, Nicole has had an amazing journey as music teacher and director. She works with students of all ages, from toddlers to elderly and people with disabilities and health related conditions. She is currently working as Music Theory and Trumpet Professor in Universidad del Sagrado Corazón; Music Program Director in The Jane Stern Dorado Community Library. She is owner of her own musical education business, as a Mentor, Musical Director and Arranger in the Fundación Banco Popular. Nicole Yomara has used Denis Wick products since college.
